DuPont Aramid Insulation Paper Nomex

Product Description:
DuPont™ Nomex® paper is an aromatic polyamide, often called aramid. It is a high performance insulation paper invented by DuPont 45 years ago. Commercial production of Nomex paper began in 1967 at the Walled Plains facility in Richmond, Virginia, USA, the primary production site for all Nomex paper grades. In 1989, the Mishima facility in Osaka, Japan also began producing Nomex paper.

Material properties:
The main advantage of Nomex insulation paper is its stability and reliability. It has excellent heat resistance, it does not shrink, become brittle or soften when heated to 300℃ for a short time. Still can maintain the insulating properties; in 220 ℃ can be long-term continuous work for more than 10 years, thus ensuring that the electrical equipment even if the short-term overheating can still operate normally. Good mechanical strength, flexible, tear resistant and wear resistant. Self-extinguishing UL-94V-0 flame retardant grade.

Applications:
Nomex is widely used for slot insulation, turn to turn insulation, interlayer insulation and end insulation of traction, wind power and automotive drive motors, as well as various transformers.

Nomex410: Basic type, made of waxed paper of different thickness, available in different thicknesses.
Nomex411: Non-calendered paper, therefore electrical and mechanical properties are lower than T410, but can easily penetrate resins and varnishes.
Nomex414: Similar to T410, it can be calendered under different conditions and can be used to make tougher, more flexible and comfortable sheets.
Nomex818: also known as Nomex MICA, made by adding 50% mica to the flocculent and precipitated fibers during production.
Nomex992: A low-density paperboard available in two thicknesses (1.6 and 3.2 mm).
Nomex993: Medium density paperboard, available in 6 thicknesses (1.0 to 4.0 MM).
Nomex994: High-density board, available in 12 thicknesses (1.0 to 9.6 MM).
Nomex356: Low-density board with thicknesses from 0.13 to 0.51 MM.
