3M™ Nextel™ is manufactured from continuous filament ceramic oxides available in 600, 900, 1800 and 3600 denier counts, as well as a wide range of roving counts. This material is designed to maintain strength and flexibility when exposed to continuous high temperatures.Nextel 312 yarns are also ideal for high temperature industrial and aerospace applications. This yarn can be used as a base material for a variety of textiles to meet the needs of the user.3M Nextel Ceramic Fibre represents a major advancement in refractory fibre technology. The yarns can be used to make a variety of ceramic textiles including fabrics, tapes, sleeves and sewing threads. The flexibility, continuity and toughness of these fibres allow textiles to be produced without the need for additional fibres or cords.

3M Nextel fibres are typically packaged and sold in woven bobbins. These bobbins/skeins are suitable for most braiding machines. In addition, these materials are sold in larger spool sizes, giving customers the flexibility to place the yarns on custom-sized spools of braiding machines or into other textile forms.

3M Nextel fibres meet the most demanding requirements for thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. The yarns are heat, flame and oxidation resistant, chemically resistant, lightweight, non-conductive and flexible.
